CLASS BOOKINGS
Please
note that a booking process applies for Body Pump and RPM classes plus our Play Time
child minding sessions. This is to ensure everyone has equal opportunity to book a popular
class:
* If you’d like to book a session you need to call us on 03 450 9117 or email us on fitness@lakesleisure.co.nz.
Your booking is only confirmed if you speak to us or receive an email reply from us – leaving a voicemail is no guarantee!
* If you are only able to leave a voicemail, be sure to leave your
contact details (phone or email) so we can return your call to confirm
space is available.
* Bookings can only be made during the following times:
- Classes 6am to 11am – day before class from, from 3pm onwards
- Classes 12pm to 7pm – morning of the class, from 6am onwards
* Cancellations within one hour of the class start incur a $5 cancellation fee.
Class information
AQUAFIT – Add water to your workout with a water-based class
suitable for any level of fitness. An aquatic workout is a great way to
improve aerobic fitness, develop strength and burn fat without the
impact, making it easier on muscles and joints.
BOXING – Fancy yourself as a bit of a Rambo or a Million Dollar baby? Come give our group boxing training a go! We’ll teach you all the techniques you need to know while you get fitter, lose weight and – hopefully – love every minute of it!
BODYATTACKâ„¢ is a high energy and really achievable
sports-inspired workout, combining athletic exercises and powerful music
to build cardio stamina, strength and agility. Designed to develop your
general fitness faster than any other programme, it’s the perfect
preparation for sports like rugby, tennis or running.
BODYBALANCEâ„¢ is the Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates workout that builds
flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centered and calm.
Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of
stretches, moves and poses to music create a holistic workout that
brings the body into a state of harmony and balance. It’s your personal
time out from the stress and strains of daily life.
BODYCOMBATâ„¢ is the empowering cardio workout where you are totally unleashed. This fiercely energetic program is inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as Karate, boxing, Taekwondo, Tai Chi and Muay Thai. Supported by driving music and powerful role model instructors strike, punch, kick and kata your way through calories to superior cardio fitness.
BODYPUMPâ„¢ is the original barbell class that strengthens your
entire body. This 60-minute workout challenges all your major muscle
groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses,
lifts and curls. Great music, awesome instructors and your choice of
weight inspire you to get the results you came for – and fast! Bookings required.
BODYSTEPâ„¢ is the energizing step workout that makes you feel liberated and alive. Using a height-adjustable step and simple movements on, over and around the step you get huge motivation from sing-a-long music and approachable instructors. Cardio blocks push fat burning systems into high gear followed by muscle conditioning tracks that shape and tone your body.
CIRCUIT TRAINING – Join us for this action-packed energy burst. Increase your fitness as you take on the challenge of the circuit. Build muscle strength and improve stamina with this high impact class!

CXWORX™ – Based on cutting-edge scientific research CXWORX combines the best of personal training with the energy of a group fitness class all in just 30 minutes! Honing in on the torso and sling muscles that connect your upper body to your lower body, it’s ideal for tightening your tummy and butt, while also improving functional strength and assisting in injury prevention.
PILATES is a body conditioning routine that seeks to build flexibility, strength, endurance, and coordination without adding muscle bulk. In addition, pilates increases circulation and helps to sculpt the body and strengthen the body's core or torso. Pilates is a form of exercise which emphasizes the balanced development of the body through core strength flexibility, and awareness in order to support efficient, graceful movement. Pilates is one of the best forms of exercise for overall conditioning, toning and relaxation. Based on a combination of yoga, meditation, martial arts and other fitness disciplines.
PLAY TIME allows you to workout each weekday morning while someone
minds your kids! This service is operated by a
kind group of local parents, two of whom will be there

RPMâ„¢ is the indoor cycling workout where you ride to the rhythm
of powerful music. Take on the terrain with your inspiring team coach
who leads the pack through hills, flats, mountain peaks, time trials,
and interval training. Discover your athlete within – sweat and burn to
reach your endorphin high. Bookings required.
SPARTAN CROSS TRAINING
Based upon our Spartan Cross Training BootCamp, this class is designed to take group fitness into the outdoors and is all about fitness & strength training. It’s suitable for all fitness levels - just something a bit different that the usual indoor classes. Meet at the gym reception just before 6pm, before heading outside to flip some tyres and throw some strength bags around. TAI CHI MODIFIED - Designed to improve mobility, flexibility and balance, Tai Chi involves a series of slow, fluid, gentle movements based on a ancient form of exercise that has been practiced for hundreds of years. Tai Chi has been shown to promote relaxation and prevent falls through improvement in balance reactions and lower limb strength. A perfect class for beginners – no experience needed!
YOGA is a full body work out integrating the mind body soul creating a balance through developing both strength and flexibility. This is done through the performance of poses or postures, each of which has specific physical benefits. In addition, yoga classes may also include instruction on breathing, structure, alignment and meditation.
ZUMBA is a fusion of Latin and International music that creates a
dynamic, exciting, and effective fitness system. Zumba fuses hypnotic
musical Latin rhythms and tantalizing moves to create a dynamic workout
system designed to be FUN and EASY TO DO! The routines feature interval
training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training
are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some
Latin flavour and International zest into the mix and you've got Zumba!
