Aqualand Lap Pool Scheduled to Reopen
15 Nov 2008 - Sophie
Lakes Leisure has announced that the Alpine Aqualand lap lanes will be in full operation from Wednesday.
“We are very pleased to have been able to keep the disruption to a minimum and are looking forward reopening to the public and group users” acting general manager Alex Calwell said.
The lap pool was closed on Thursday after a pressure lining fault was identified. It was drained overnight and by Friday afternoon experts had identified the cause of the problem and coordinated the repair.
“We had a blocked inlet valve in which the pressure built up and finally resulted in the lining lifting” says Project Manager, Ken Gousmet. Repairs have now been completed and refilling of the pool commenced. The repair itself was very straightforward and no damage to the liner reported.
The pool will take two days to refill and two days to heat to 27 degrees.
