World Cup Final Screening in Queenstown

Families and individuals are invited to take part in the football mania of the FIFA 2010 World Cup Final with all proceeds going to the Wakatipu-based Bruce Grant Youth Trust and Queenstown Football Club.

The Beautiful Game is to be televised LIVE on a giant screen at Queenstown Memorial Hall on Monday 12 July with doors opening bright and early at 5.30am for kick off at 6:30am.

The Queenstown Football Club will be selling BBQ breakfast, coffee and tea for match-time munchies.

Prizes will also be awarded for the Best Dressed Supporter and Best Team in the crowd alongside a World Cup raffle.

Friends, family and children are all welcome to attend the game as this is an alcohol-free event.

Lakes Leisure events manager JD Marrable thanked the many Queenstown businesses that have worked together to support this event, in particular Cookie Time, along with Queenstown Rafting, AJ Hackett Bungy, Flame, Ziptrek Ecotours, Kiwi Discovery, Sombreros Mexican Cantina, Rees Street Delicatessen, G Force Paragliding, Fresh Choice Queenstown, Heaven, Hush Spa, Quiksilver, NZSki, Snowbiz, NZ Shred, Brown’s Ski Rentals, Shotover Jet and Outside Sports.

“It’s this combined effort that makes these events happen. It will be so much more fun than watching at home and we really encourage people to wrap the kids up warm and come and enjoy a great start to Monday.â€

Entry to the event is $7 Adults and gold coin donation for children under 12 years (accompanied by an adult).
